Saxx Underwear Review: The Ultimate Guide to Comfort and Support

A Canadian student who was out fishing in the sweltering heat and wondered how he might create a pair of underwear that prevents your balls from clinging to your legs founded the Saxx underwear company. In order to pay a designer to create the ideal ball hammock briefs, he obtained a loan from a bank. And thus, the first set of Saxx briefs was created. Saxx has a vast selection of underwear for almost every situation a man might encounter. There are 12 various boxer underwear lines available, including 5 for everyday usage, 2 for "adventure," and 5 that are especially made for sports. The 3D Fitstretchy Fabric and 3D Hammock Shaped Pouch, which are both trademarked, are the only elements that are shared by all 12 versions.

SAXX VIBE vs. SAXX ULTRA

The Vibe and Ultra are soft and somewhat delicate because they are both constructed of 95% viscose and 5% elastane (also known as spandex). The Vibe brief is slim-fitting and does not have a fly, but the Ultra brief is looser-fitting and has a fly. (Note: Saxx occasionally provides a Vibe with a fly; availability ymmv.) Both look nice with casual clothing. The Vibe boxer brief, reportedly Saxx's best-selling item, is designed for daily wear. This slim-fitting style is composed of 95% viscose and 5% elastane. The Vibe is a considerably lighter, softer pair of underwear than the Hot Shot and Volt.

PLATINUM SAXX

Its most delicate, softest material is a 95% modal, 5% elastane combination. Instead of engaging in any sports or strenuous endurance exercises, this material is better suited for luxuriously comfortable relaxing. Due to its capacity to keep me cool on the warmest of days, the Hot Shot is my favorite pair of underwear out of the three I tested. Given that these boxer briefs are relaxed in fit and not slim fit, it is doubly unexpected. For people who want quick-drying and moisture-wicking underwear for vigorous activity, these are an excellent investment for $38 each.

DAYTRIPPER SAXX

It fits well and is a fly and relaxed version of the ULTRA, more or less. The primary distinction is that Daytripper boxer briefs are made of 97% polyester and 3% elastane rather than viscose. This combination may be more durable and less likely to pill. I chose the Vibe because of its softness for weekday chores like making breakfast and unwinding after work. The velvety feel of the material made me hardly notice that I was wearing boxer briefs. Strangely, moving about and doing out household duties felt more polite than normal. Maybe because they're so comfortable and snug, I never once gave wearing underwear a second thought.

Undercover SAXX

Like the Vibe, it has a fly, a slim, snug fit, and a 57% cotton, 38% modal, and 5% elastane blend. You may anticipate a stronger, more durable fabric experience (but one that is less opulent than the PLATINUM range) by adding cotton to the blend. The Volt accomplishes the job of wicking away moisture, but not quite as successfully as the Hot Shot. Although my shorts drying quickly thanks to the perforated micro-mesh of the Volt, there was still plenty of perspiration inside of them. Simply said, that period wasn't as brief as the Hot Shot.

The fabric has a comparable percentage of cotton, modal, and spandex to Mack Weldon's 18-hour boxer briefs (47.5% cotton, 47.5%, and 5%), however Saxx chose more cotton and less modal, which would offer the product greater robustness at the expense of a little less softness. If you're unfamiliar with Mack Weldon, we have a thorough evaluation of the company. The primary silhouette and practically all fabric and technological design options are offered in boxer briefs. You may select from one of three defined categories.

SD SAXX KINETIC

a boxer brief for training that is made to sustain heavy movement during periods of high intensity. The 85% nylon, which aids in moisture management, and 15% elastane in the fabric combination offer the Kinetic boxer brief a semi-compression fit for less chafing and more support. The mesh paneling that runs the length of the Hot Shot's boxer was the first aspect of its design that caught my attention. At a distance, it's difficult to notice, but behind the boxer brief's printed pattern, there are alternate rows of mesh and solid fabric. It is perforated, very thin, and slightly opaque when held up to the light.

MESH SAXX SPORT

These slim-fit, multipurpose men's underpants are made for folks who lead active lives and are made to work well both at the office and on the basketball court. 89% of the fabric is polyester, which controls moisture, and 11% is elastane, which adds structure and support. Also present is a vertical fly. Introducing Saxx, an aptly named underwear brand that seeks to challenge what people believe underwear to be. Saxx, in the words of the business, offers "life changing underpants."
